Dear Messy Friends,
The days are getting shorter and colder, and winter is feeling very much like it is coming soon.
Our next Messy Church at Horfield Methodist will be on Saturday 12th November at 11 am and be will be exploring trusting God. Sometimes it is difficult to trust God, we have things that care us ahead of us and we don’t know what to do, problems hit us and we wonder where God is and why he let this happen. When you are in these situations it is hard to think that God is still with us, and will help us through to come out the other side. In the very famous Psalm, David wrote:
“The Lord is my shepherd. I have everything I need…Even if I walk through a very dark valley, I will not be afraid because you are with me. Your rod and your shepherd’s staff comfort me.”
(Psalm 23: 1, 4, International Children’s Bible)
We must trust that God is with us through our good times and bad, and if we need him then ask for his help.
We will making some marshmallow sheep, getting lost and finding our way out of a maze, modelling a clay shepherd’s staff and creating a nature collage scene. This will be then followed by a short worship service, exploring how we can fully trust God. We will then share in a yummy
lunch of jacket potatoes, baked beans and cheese, and some cake for pudding!
We really hope you can join us.
Messy blessings
