Our Church Family Camp 2006 was held at Beeches Farm, near Tintern in the Forest of Dean. The site was fairly basic but the quiet setting with views across the beautiful wooded valley made up for this, and we were blessed with a lovely weekend of June sunshine.

On the Saturday morning we enjoyed a communal breakfast - well done to the cooks! - before setting off on a walk down through the woods to the river and Tintern. With stops to pet our four legged friends at the horse and pony sanctuary and for ice creams at the old railway station, we got to Tintern in time for picnics and tea shops (or a second ice cream in some cases!). Suitably refreshed, we re-assembled and went up into the woods once again to admire the view from The Devil's Pulpit, before circling around back to the camp site.

Saturday evening saw some games of rounders for the more energetic, a superb BBQ and then a good sing song around the camp fire! On Sunday morning we had our usual open air service, complete with singing, drama and origami! We then all enjoyed a picnic together before striking camp and heading home to Bristol. An excellent weekend, and we look forward to next years...!
